Requirements for Enrollment in the Air Cadet programme.
To join Air Cadets, young people (males and females may join) must be between the ages of 12 and 18. (They must have reached their 12th birthday, and not yet reached their 19th.) They must be either a Canadian Citizen or a landed immigrant.
Parents should come with the young person on their first night, so that contact information as well as a medical statement can be filled out. You are also asked to bring their Birth Certificate, Health Card, and Social Insurance Card (if they have one) with you, so that copies can be taken for the Cadet's record.
The Cadet's entire uniform, including boots, is provided for them. Before the Cadet receives their uniform, they are expected to show up in "good" clothes. (Dress pants, dress shirt, tie if they have one, dress shoes are all preferable, but don't go out and buy them special for the couple of weeks between their registration and when they are likely to have their uniform.) They may also require a few dollars for a name badge. The current price for a name tag is $4.00.

Sleeve Insignia Placement. (.pdf format)
The placement of the rank, level and other badges on the Cadet uniform is very important. In the case of competitions, there are actual markers who inspect each Cadet's uniform to ensure correct placement. The following four pages show the correct spacing and placement of the various badges on the uniform sleeves. You will need Acrobat Reader to view or print these files.
